TrewRenue™ is FSC certified S-Dry West Coast Douglas fir lumber and plywood that has been either preservative pressure treated “DOT” or “ACQ”, or fire retardant pressure treated “FRT”, containing total volatile organic compounds not to exceed 30 g/L less water, and is kept in stock for immediate jobsite availability in Southern California.

TrewRenue™ preservative treated may be specified as either interior or exterior.

For interior applications such as nailers, ledgers, sill plates, studs, joists, etc., TrewRenue™ DOT is Viance Company’s Timbersaver® borate based wood preservative applied to FSC certified S-Dry West Coast Douglas fir lumber and plywood to meet AWPA standards P-5, C-9, C-31, UC1 and UC2 using a pressure-treatment process. This provides permanent protection against wood destroying insects and decay fungi. TrewRenue™ DOT borate treated lumber and plywood is not suitable for applications exposed to the weather or in ground contact and must be protected from exposure to liquid water.

TrewRenue DOT Lumber

The active ingredient is Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate or DOT, the most widely accepted form of borates used for treatment of forest products. DOT is manufactured from naturally occurring boron, which is widely used in a variety of applications in agriculture, cleaning products and detergents, and in wood preservation. For exterior applications such as trellis’, playground equipment, patios, decks, etc., TrewRenue™ ACQ is Viance Company’s Preserve® ACQ based wood preservative applied to FSC certified S-Dry West Coast Douglas fir lumber and plywood to meet AWPA standards U1, T1, UC1, UC2, UC3A, UC3B, UC4A, and UC4B using a pressure treatment process. TrewRenue™ ACQ is treated lumber and plywood which provides the same level of protection to wood as CCA preservatives against decay, rot, and termite attacks without the use of arsenic and chromium.

ACQ is a copper plus quat system. The main active ingredient is copper, which has long been established as the most cost-effective preservative component used in wood preservation. Quat acts as the co-biocide, providing additional protection from fungi and insect attack that copper alone would not control. Quats are commonly used in household and industrial disinfectants and cleaners and are biodegradable in soil. Copper and quat solutions similar to ACQ are used for the control of fungi and bacteria in swimming pools and spas. For complete information, visit treatedwood.com

TrewRenue™ FRT is for interior applications where the wood is not exposed directly to weather. TrewRenue™ FRT is Viance Company’s D-Blaze® applied through pressure treatment to FSC certified S-Dry West Coast Douglas fir lumber and plywood to meet AWPA standards U1, T1, UCFA Type A as well the hygroscopicity requirements of AWPA C-20/C-27, UC1, T1 for Type A use.

TrewRenue FRT Lumber

In tests conducted in accordance with ASTM D-3201 at relative humidity up to 95%, it has virtually the same moisture content as untreated wood. TrewRenue™ FRT wood protects against corrosion on galvanized steel truss plates as well as other metal fasteners. Extensive testing that with respect to metal corrosion, TrewRenue™ FRT wood maintains metal finish and metal integrity virtually as well as untreated wood exposed to the same conditions.
